push to re-sign him last Antworten

KAPALUA, Hawaii - David Duval is joining Golf Channel as a studio analyst for some of the biggest tournaments, giving him a voice in the game at a time he can no longer rely on his health. He will make his debut in two weeks at the Humana Challenge, where he shot 59 in the final round 16 years ago during his rise to No. 1 in the world.Duval said Tuesday he does not consider this a step toward retirement from the PGA Tour. The 2001 British Open champion has been coping with injuries the better part of the last decade and has not had a full-exempt card on tour since 2011.Its a way to be involved in the game I love so much and to learn another facet of it, Duval said from his home in Denver. I think I can be a voice of the players, too, because its a current voice. Lets see what happens and where it goes. The Golf Channel schedule should allow him to remain active for the few tournaments he can enter on his limited past champions status and whatever exemptions he is offered. He plans to play the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am next month.Still, this represents a big transition for a player who once was one of the strongest rivals to Tiger Woods at his peak.Duval did some TV work at the U.S. Open in 2012 at Olympic Club and has dabbled in television at some of the majors, along with the BMW Championship last year when it was held in Denver. Golf Channel plans to use him as a studio analyst for its pregame and postgame shows with Brandel Chamblee for the majors, World Golf Championships, FedEx Cup playoffs, The Players Championship, Florida swing and Presidents Cup or Ryder Cup.As a former world No. 1 and a major champion, he brings so much added perspective to this team, Golf Channel executive producer Molly Solomon said. He makes the team stronger. Weve been talking to him for a year about this. We found we could create a schedule where he could continue to play.Duval is regarded as introspective and well-read, and at times self-deprecating.Most of all, I value his candour, Solomon said. Thoughtful conversation about golf is compelling television.Duvals last victory was the Dunlop Phoenix in 2001, the year he won the British Open at Royal Lytham & St. Annes. His game took a mysterious turn for the worse a few years later with a series of injuries, a drop in confidence and a run of swing coaches. He pledged last year that he would stop asking for exemptions, and while he said it was important to honour that commitment, he made it on the assumption he would be in good health. He spent the second half of last year coping with a strain in his right elbow that led him to withdraw three times.A move to television, whether that becomes a full-time job or allows him to talk and play, was intriguing to him.It gives you a new perspective, he said. Were constantly told this as players, but you realize it even that much more how much TV people are partners. The hours the folks put in is staggering. There are long days and lots of homework and preparation that you dont think about when youre playing. Its exciting and fun to do this now. Akiem Hicks Bears Jersey . Berkman almost left the game last off-season before signing with the Texas Rangers. He then had another injury-plagued season and was limited to 73 games. Brian Urlacher Bears Jersey .com) - Delon Wright scored 17 points and No. https://www.bearssportsgoods.com/Womens-...ted-Jersey/.com) - Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson lost an appeal to have his indefinite suspension overturned, the NFL announced Friday. Jim McMahon Jersey . So far, so good: Gonzalez has allowed one run through 12 innings this season. His second start came Tuesday night, when he gave up only three singles over six innings to lead the Nationals to a 5-0 victory over the Miami Marlins. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix Jersey . - Bryan Price sat down in the cushy chair.ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - Peyton Manning was sorry to see Eric Decker go and is glad hell be able to catch up with him Sunday. With Emmanuel Sanders taking over for Decker in Denver, the Broncos are humming right along without the former Broncos receiver who caught an NFL-best two dozen TD passes over the 2012 and 2013 seasons. Manning is coming off a career-best 479-yard passing performance against Arizona, which is 405 yards more than Jets QBs Geno Smith and Michael Vick combined for in a shutout loss at San Diego last week. Decker said he was under no illusions when he joined the Jets in free agency last offsea6son that New York would all of a sudden become a power passing team. I knew what the philosophy was here. I knew what challenges that we have, Decker said in a conference call with Denver media. Right now, we havent played very consistently. We havent done enough to win ballgames. The Jets (1-4) take a four-game losing streak into Sundays game against the Broncos (3-1) at MetLife Stadium, site of the Super Bowl, where Decker had one of the worst games of his career. Lined up mostly against Seahawks star cornerback Richard Sherman, Decker caught one pass for 6 yards. With big paydays for Demaryius Thomas and Julius Thomas on the horizon, the Broncos couldnt afford to break the bank for Decker like the Jets did with a five-year, $36.5 million deal. They were sad to see him leave. I know he was a very popular Denver Bronco for the way he played the game and I really enjoyed working with him, Manning said. Hes a hard worker. Hes one of the first guys that I threw to when I signed here in the spring of 2012. We developed a pretty good rapport early. And it paid off as Decker averaged 86 catches for 1,176 yards and 12 TDs in his two seasons with Manning. I was happy for him with how he was rewarded by the Jets and I sent him a text last week and if I get a chance to visit with him before or afteer the game, I look forward to it, Manning said.dddddddddddd Decker looks forward to catching up, not just with old friends but production-wise. After two injury-free seasons with Manning, Decker has been hampered by a pulled hamstring since training camp. He was taken out after getting just one catch against Chicago in Week 3 as a precaution and was held out last week against the Chargers. He has just 14 catches for 204 yards and two TDs so far, not enough to help the Jets solve their offensive struggles. Im not frustrated at all with the situation. Its growing pains, Decker said. Obviously getting to know a new quarterback takes time, takes repetition, takes experience, and I havent helped myself being out with a nagging hamstring issue. Im working to get back on the field. Decker said he wasnt surprised or bothered that the Broncos didnt make a big push to re-sign him last season. He said he loved Denver and would have liked to play his entire career in the Rocky Mountains but once the Broncos didnt offer something before he became a free agent, he knew it was time to move on. I understand the business side of it and its a two-way street, Decker said. Ive got all the respect for John Elway and that organization and what theyre doing. Obviously theyve made good choices and I wouldnt say Im frustrated or mad that they didnt (re-sign him) but I would say I definitely enjoyed my time out there. And hes starting to enjoy the Big Apple, too. It just takes time to get comfortable in a new environment but I definitely feel welcomed here as well, Decker said. I have great teammates, great organization. More ma-and-pa food opportunities out here I would say as far as Italian and some of the food might be just a little bit, I wont say better, but you have more options. Thats a big difference and the weather in Denver; its hard to beat the weather in Denver. Thats something that was nice, too. ' ' '
